I’ll admit that I’m in my comfort zone when I shoot at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. There are so many textures and colors and variety that I tell my clients that they really get their biggest bang for their buck at this one location. Especially, now: When the days are shorter and kids don’t get out of school until 3-ish. Parents seldom let their children cut school for their Senior Portrait (although, I love it when they do).
I love the Nelson. I love the outside, I love the inside. I haven’t come close to exploring and photographing each nook and cranny. There are still a lot of things and people and places left to me, there. For each shoot I try and do something unique. Especially when I am photographing several kids from the same high school. It’s a challenge. I love a challenge.
